Leroy Anderson's music has long been recognized for its imaginative brilliance and superb craftmanship. Known for his short orchestral compositions, Anderson also made arrangements of his works for concert band and other ensembles.

The care and dedication that Anderson brought to the writing of his symphonic works extended to the piano solo editions of his music. He made each of these 38 piano transcriptions of his original orchestral compositions.

This book of piano solos includes two pieces that are being published for the first time: Governor Bradford March, originally written for orchestra, and An Old Fashioned Song, written for beginning piano students.

While Anderson wrote his music for full symphony orchestras to perform, Forgotten Dreams was composed for piano and orchestra. The opening and closing measures are very expressive. This was his best known composition in England and is a favorite of Mr. Anderson's family.
